Description

Glacier National Park is a beautiful and remote national park in northwestern Montana.  First established in 1910, it contains over 700 miles of trails, a variety of lodgings built by the Great Northern Railway and the Going to the Sun Road.  This road was completed in 1932 to bring tourists into the heart of the Park by car instead of horses and hiking.  Adjoining the Park on its northern border is Waterton Lakes National Park, established by Canada in 1895, and now known as Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park when in 1932 the governments of Canada and the U.S. linked the two parks as the world's first International Peace Park.
